The Ryder Cup 2027 is coming to Adare Manor in County Limerick, Ireland, from 13–19 September 2027. If you’re planning to come to Ireland for the golf, there’s a lot more to think about than the tee times. Where should you stay? How do you get to Adare Manor? Which airport should you fly into? And what can you do when you’re not watching the golf?

We’ve travelled all over the world, but Limerick is home turf for us. Kate grew up just outside the city and spent her college years at the University of Limerick, so we’ve spent years eating, drinking and exploring our way around the area.

We’re sharing the places we’d genuinely recommend to friends visiting for the Ryder Cup, along with the practical information you’ll need to plan your trip.

Ryder Cup 2027: Quick Facts

When is the Ryder Cup 2027?

The Ryder Cup 2027 takes place from 13–19 September 2027 at Adare Manor in County Limerick, Ireland.

While the main competition takes place from Friday 17 to Sunday 19 September, the Ryder Cup week starts earlier, with practice days and other events taking place from Tuesday 14 September.

The current official schedule is:

• Tuesday 14 September: Practice Day and SuperValu Community Day
• Wednesday 15 September: Practice Day and All Star Match
• Thursday 16 September: Practice Day, Junior Ryder Cup final round and Opening Ceremony
• Friday 17 September: Match Day
• Saturday 18 September: Match Day
• Sunday 19 September: Match Day

The organisers have not yet released every detail of the programme, including all gate information, fan village details and additional experiences, so we’ll update this guide as the official Ryder Cup 2027 programme is announced.

This will be the 100th staging of the Ryder Cup and only the second time the competition has been held in Ireland, following the 2006 Ryder Cup at The K Club in County Kildare.

Where is the Ryder Cup 2027 being held?

As mentioned, the Ryder Cup 2027 will be held at Adare Manor in County Limerick, in the village of Adare in southwest Ireland.

If you’re travelling to the Ryder Cup 2027 from overseas, there is one important distinction to understand when planning your trip:

Adare and Limerick City are not the same place.

Adare is a village in County Limerick, while Limerick City is the nearest major city and the largest place in the county.

Adare Manor: The Ryder Cup 2027 Venue

Adare Manor is the official Ryder Cup 2027 venue and will welcome the world’s best golfers for the 100th edition of the competition.

The Adare Manor Golf course was redesigned by Tom Fazio and the resort has previously hosted major golf events, including the 2019 JP McManus Pro-Am.

For Ryder Cup 2027 visitors, however, it’s worth remembering that the golf venue and the surrounding tourist area are two different things.

You may be spending your days at Adare Manor, but you’ll have plenty of choices for accommodation, restaurants, pubs and sightseeing elsewhere in County Limerick.

Visiting Adare During Ryder Cup Week

Don’t overlook Adare Village itself.

Adare village is famous for its traditional thatched cottages, historic buildings and picturesque main street, and it’s somewhere we’d recommend seeing even if you’re primarily coming to Ireland for golf.

We know Limerick well, and one of the advantages of the Ryder Cup 2027 being held here is that you can combine a major international sporting event with a proper Irish trip.

Ryder Cup 2027 in Ireland: Why Stay in Limerick?

If you’re travelling to Ireland for several days, Limerick is one of the main places we’d consider staying for the Ryder Cup 2027.

Why?

Because you’re not going to spend every minute of your Ryder Cup trip at Adare Manor.

Limerick gives you a much wider choice of hotels, restaurants, pubs, attractions, live music and things to do once the golf is finished for the day.

The official Ryder Cup 2027 transport arrangements also include dedicated services connecting Limerick’s railway stations with the event.

That means you can potentially leave the car behind on tournament days, have breakfast in Limerick, head to Adare Manor for the golf and return to the city for dinner and a few drinks.

And honestly, that’s how we’d do it.

The 2027 Ryder Cup is going to be a huge part of your trip, but there’s no reason it needs to be the only part.

Where to Stay for the Ryder Cup 2027

Let’s be real, finding Ryder Cup 2027 accommodation is going to be one of the biggest challenges for visitors, particularly as the event gets closer.

If you’ve already secured tickets, we’d start looking at accommodation sooner rather than later.

You don’t necessarily need to stay right beside Adare Manor either.

Limerick City, Adare and the surrounding towns and villages give you several different options depending on whether you prioritise convenience, nightlife, transport or being close to the golf.

Can You Stay at Adare Manor During the Ryder Cup?

If you’ve been dreaming of staying at the Ryder Cup Adare venue itself, there’s an important catch.

Adare Manor is not accepting normal accommodation bookings during September 2027.

The resort has confirmed that it is fully committed during the Ryder Cup 2027 event period.

So if you’re searching for Adare Manor accommodation during the Ryder Cup, don’t waste time waiting for ordinary hotel rooms to appear.

Instead, look at the official 2027 Ryder Cup accommodation programme or accommodation elsewhere in County Limerick.

Hotels in Limerick for the Ryder Cup 2027

For us, staying in Limerick City for the Ryder Cup has a major advantage: you’ve got somewhere to actually enjoy yourself after the golf.

You’ll find restaurants, pubs, live music and attractions within walking distance of many Limerick city-centre hotels.

A few Limerick hotels worth looking at include:

The Savoy Hotel Limerick

The Savoy is a five-star hotel on Henry Street, with a more polished feel if you’re looking to make the Ryder Cup 2027 trip a bit of an occasion. It’s right in the city centre, with restaurants, bars and Limerick’s main sights on the doorstep.

Limerick Strand Hotel

Set beside the River Shannon, the Limerick Strand gives you a riverside location while still being within easy walking distance of the city centre. It’s a good choice if you want to be central without being right on O’Connell Street.

The George Hotel Limerick

The George is right on O’Connell Street, putting you in the thick of Limerick’s city-centre nightlife. If you’re planning on heading out for dinner, drinks or live music after the golf, this location is particularly handy.

Other Limerick Accommodation

Don’t limit your search to these three Limerick hotels.

There are plenty of hotels, guesthouses and other accommodation options in and around Limerick.

Our advice would be to think about where you want to spend your evenings, rather than simply choosing the accommodation with the shortest theoretical drive to Adare Manor.

Ryder Cup week will be exceptionally busy, and normal journey times should not be assumed.

Book Ryder Cup accommodation as early as you can.
Accommodation around Limerick, Adare and the wider southwest is likely to be in particularly high demand during 2027 Ryder Cup week. If you’re travelling for specific match days, we’d recommend securing your accommodation before booking the rest of your Ireland trip rather than leaving your base until the last minute.

Official Ryder Cup 2027 Accommodation

If you want accommodation specifically connected with the event, the official Ryder Cup 2027 accommodation programme includes several options.

Official Ryder Cup 2027 Campsite

The Official Ryder Cup Campsite is located close to Adare Manor and is designed specifically for spectators attending the event.

Camping packages are available through the official accommodation programme to eligible Ryder Cup 2027 ticket holders.

The obvious advantage is proximity to the golf.

If you’re the sort of person who enjoys staying at major sporting events rather than travelling back to a hotel every evening, this could be an interesting option.

Ryder Cup 2027 Ticket-Inclusive Hotel Packages

2027 Ryder Cup Travel Services is also offering official ticket-inclusive hotel packages.

The current package includes a five-night stay from Wednesday 15 September to Monday 20 September, together with four days of Ryder Cup 2027 tickets covering Thursday through Sunday.

For international visitors, packages like this could make the planning process considerably easier because accommodation and event access are arranged together.

Official Ryder Cup 2027 Property Rental Programme

Another option is the Official Property Rental Programme.

Rather than booking an unofficial holiday rental, visitors can rent a private property through the authorised Ryder Cup 2027 programme.

The standard rental period is currently eight nights.

If you’re travelling to Limerick for the Ryder Cup with a group, a house could potentially make more sense than booking several separate hotel rooms.

Ryder Cup 2027 Cruise Ship Accommodation

Now for something a little different.

The Ryder Cup 2027 cruise accommodation option allows visitors to stay aboard the Oceania Marina, which will be docked at Shannon Foynes Port on the River Shannon during Ryder Cup week.

The official package includes accommodation, dining, four days of Ryder Cup 2027 tickets and daily transfers to Adare Manor.

The Ryder Cup cruise ship will be approximately 30km from Adare Manor.

It’s certainly not how we’d normally suggest experiencing Limerick, but if you’re looking for something completely different, it’s an option worth knowing about.

Ryder Cup 2027 Glamping

Official ticket-inclusive Ryder Cup 2027 glamping packages are also planned.

More details have not yet been released, so we’ll update this section once the organisers publish further information.

Ryder Cup 2027 Tickets: What You Need to Know

If you’re still trying to get into the Ryder Cup 2027, the general admission ballot is now closed.

The official Ryder Cup website currently lists other authorised ways of attending, including:

• Ticket-inclusive hotel packages
• Premium Experiences
• Authorised travel packages

If you’re still looking for tickets, we’d strongly recommend sticking to the official Ryder Cup website and authorised providers.

The organisers have warned that tickets obtained through unauthorised secondary resale platforms can be cancelled.

There are also plans for thousands of tickets for SuperValu Community Day on Tuesday 14 September 2027, with details on how to apply expected to be announced later this year.

We’ll update this section when those details are released.

How to Get to the Ryder Cup 2027 at Adare Manor

Working out how to get to Adare Manor for the Ryder Cup 2027 is one of the most important parts of planning your trip.

The official event transport information currently identifies four airports:

• Shannon Airport
• Dublin Airport
• Cork Airport
• Kerry Airport

There will also be dedicated train and shuttle services connecting the event with Limerick and the wider Irish rail network.

Flying to Shannon Airport for the Ryder Cup 2027

If you’re flying internationally for the Ryder Cup 2027, Shannon Airport is the airport we’d look at first.

It’s the closest major airport to Adare and is particularly convenient if you’re planning to combine the Ryder Cup with County Clare, Galway or the Wild Atlantic Way.

For an international visitor at the Ryder Cup in Adare, Shannon can also save you from having to travel across the country before you’ve even reached Limerick.

Dublin Airport to Adare Manor for the Ryder Cup

Dublin Airport has the widest range of international connections, so it may be the most convenient option depending on where you’re travelling from.

The official Ryder Cup transport information currently estimates approximately 2½–3 hours by car from Dublin to the Park & Ride area.

Note: These are official Ryder Cup travel estimates rather than normal journey times. We’d still allow plenty of extra time on the day, particularly as you’re travelling during a major international sporting event.

Cork Airport to Adare Manor

Cork Airport is another official airport for the Ryder Cup 2027.

It could work particularly well if you’re combining the golf with a trip around Cork, Cobh, Kinsale or Ireland’s south coast.

As Cork is also relatively close to Limerick compared with Dublin, it could be a useful alternative depending on flight availability.

Kerry Airport to Adare Manor

Kerry Airport is also listed as an official access point for the Ryder Cup 2027.

This could be particularly convenient if you’re planning to combine the tournament with Killarney National Park, the Ring of Kerry or southwest Ireland trip.

Ryder Cup 2027 Transport: Train, Park & Ride and Shuttles

One of the biggest things to understand before driving to the event is that you cannot simply drive to Adare Manor and park at the golf course.

There will be no spectator parking at the Adare Ryder Cup venue itself.

Instead, the official Ryder Cup 2027 transport plan includes Park & Ride, Train & Walk and Train & Ride options.

Ryder Cup 2027 Park & Ride

The official plan includes Ryder Cup Park & Ride locations around Adare.

Spectators will park their cars at the designated sites and continue to Adare Manor by dedicated shuttle bus.

Current approximate journey times are:

• East Park & Ride → Adare Manor: 20–30 minutes
• West Park & Ride → Adare Manor: 10–20 minutes

Ryder Cup 2027 Park & Ride will be subject to a charge and available for pre-booking.

Further information will be provided to successful ticket purchasers.

Can You Get the Train to the Ryder Cup 2027?

Yes — and there are two different official rail options depending on where you’re travelling from.

The organisers have confirmed a dedicated Train & Walk service between Limerick Junction and a temporary railway station serving Adare Manor during the Ryder Cup. From the temporary station, spectators will have a short walk to the event gates.

There will also be Train & Ride services from Limerick Colbert, with dedicated shuttle buses continuing to the Ryder Cup bus terminal. This is the option to know about if you’re staying in Limerick city. The official shuttle journey from Limerick Colbert to Adare Manor is currently estimated at around 35–40 minutes.

So, if you’re staying in Limerick city, you don’t need to travel out to Limerick Junction first. You can use Limerick Colbert Station and the dedicated Ryder Cup shuttle bus.

For visitors travelling from Dublin or Cork, Limerick Junction is the key interchange for the dedicated Train & Walk service. The organisers also list rail connections from Killarney, Tralee and Waterford to the Ryder Cup 2027 transport network.

For Limerick’s Ryder Cup week, leaving the car behind could be a very practical option, particularly as there will be no spectator parking at Adare Manor itself and the organisers are encouraging spectators to use Train & Ride or Park & Ride.

Things to Do in Limerick During the Ryder Cup

Here’s where we’d encourage you to step away from the golf for a while!

Limerick has plenty to offer beyond the Ryder Cup in Adare, and if you’re travelling all the way to Ireland, we’d definitely make time to explore the city.

A few of our Limerick favourites include:

• King John’s Castle – Step into Limerick’s medieval past and climb the towers for fantastic views over the city and River Shannon.
• The Milk Market – Our favourite spot for food, coffee and a bit of local Limerick life. If you’re here on a Saturday morning, don’t miss it.
• The Hunt Museum – A great rainy-day option with an impressive collection of art and antiquities, right beside the Medieval Quarter.
• St Mary’s Cathedral & the Medieval Quarter – One of Limerick’s oldest buildings, surrounded by some of the city’s most historic streets. It’s an easy area to explore alongside King John’s Castle.
• Dolan’s – One of Limerick’s standout venues for traditional Irish music and live music. Keep an eye on the listings during Ryder Cup week if you fancy some proper Irish music and a bit of craic after the golf.
• Limerick’s Pubs – From cosy traditional pubs to lively spots with live music, there’s no shortage of places to settle in for a drink and some Limerick craic after a day at the Ryder Cup.

Things to Do in Adare During the Ryder Cup

Don’t spend your entire Ryder Cup trip travelling between your accommodation and Adare Monor golf course. Adare itself is one of the most beautiful villages in Ireland and is well worth exploring while you’re in the area.

Start by wandering along Adare’s famous main street, where you’ll find its distinctive thatched cottages, colourful shopfronts and historic buildings. Adare village is small enough to explore on foot, making it an easy place to spend a few hours between Ryder Cup sessions.

You can also visit Adare Desmond Castle, see the ruins of the Franciscan Friary and Trinitarian Abbey, and stroll through Adare Village Park. Adare thatched cottages and medieval ruins make it feel quite different from Limerick city.

If you have a free morning or afternoon during 2027 Ryder Cup week, we’d definitely put some time aside for Adare rather than simply passing through on the way to the golf.

Where to Eat and Drink in Limerick During the Ryder Cup

We’re big foodies, and one of the things we love about Limerick is that you don’t have to go far to find good food, a decent pint or somewhere with a bit of atmosphere. Ryder Cup week will be busy, though, so we’d book any restaurant you particularly want to try in advance.

The Milk Market

For us, the Milk Market is a must, especially if you’re in Limerick on a Saturday. This historic covered market has been part of Limerick since 1852 and is packed with local produce, artisan food, street food, coffee, baked goods and plenty of tempting things to eat.

The Saturday Farmers Market runs from 8am to 3pm, and it’s the busiest and most atmospheric market day.

Saturday mornings are actually our favourite time to visit Limerick Milk Market. We usually wander around the stalls, grab something good to eat and a coffee, and take our time browsing while there’s plenty happening around the market. It’s a great option if you want to experience a bit of everyday Limerick rather than just eating in a hotel restaurant.

The Curragower

For a meal with one of the best views in Limerick, head to The Curragower on the banks of the River Shannon, right in the Medieval Quarter. You can look across at King John’s Castle from the terrace while tucking into a proper meal.

We’re particularly fond of the seafood chowder here — we’d put it on our list for the best seafood chowder in Limerick. It’s a great spot for lunch or dinner when you want good food, a relaxed atmosphere and a bit of Limerick scenery thrown in for free.

The Copper Room

If you’re more interested in wine and cheese than pints, The Copper Room is one of Limerick’s little hidden gems. Tucked beneath O’Connell Street in underground caverns that formed part of the original Roches Hanging Gardens, it’s a much more intimate setting than your typical city-centre bar.

You can settle in with a glass of wine or port and a cheese board, with meats, pâté, breads and other small bites also available. It’s exactly the sort of place we’d seek out after a day at the Ryder Cup when we wanted a slower evening rather than another big meal.

The current published hours are Wednesday and Thursday 5pm–11pm and Friday to Sunday 4pm–12:30am, with Monday and Tuesday closed. Check directly before visiting as Ryder Cup week approaches.

Nancy Blakes

For a more traditional Limerick pub experience, we’d head to Nancy Blakes on Denmark Street. This iconic pub has been part of Limerick’s pub scene since 1956, and it still has that proper old-school character that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into a piece of the city’s history.

Think cosy corners, hearty pub food, a roaring turf fire when the weather is cold and, for those who enjoy a creamy pint, the kind of atmosphere where you can settle in and forget about the time. There’s live traditional Irish music too, adding to the unmistakably Irish feel.

It’s exactly the sort of Limerick pub we’d choose after a day at the Ryder Cup when we wanted somewhere with a bit of character rather than a polished hotel bar.

Dolan’s

If traditional Irish music is on your Limerick bucket list, Dolan’s should be high on it. It’s one of the city’s standout venues for traditional Irish music, with regular trad sessions and a long-standing reputation as an important live music venue.

The traditional music sessions have been part of Dolan’s identity since it opened in 1994, and musicians from the local scene and beyond have played there over the years. Limerick’s official Trad Music Trail also includes Dolan’s among the city’s key traditional music venues.

What we love about Dolan’s is that it isn’t just somewhere you go to watch Irish music. The sessions have a proper pub-session feel, with musicians playing together in an informal setting. There are also several other live music spaces across the venue, so you could easily find something different happening on the same night.

For Ryder Cup week, we’d definitely put Dolan’s on the list if you want to experience some genuine Limerick craic and traditional Irish music rather than simply ticking off another tourist attraction.

Do You Need a Car for the Ryder Cup 2027?

Not necessarily.

If you’re staying in central Limerick, you can easily explore the city on foot and use the official event transport to get to Adare for the Ryder Cup, so there’s no need to hire a car.

A rental car becomes much more useful if you’re planning to explore beyond Limerick or combine the Ryder Cup 2027 with an Ireland road trip.

If you do hire a car, remember that we drive on the left-hand side of the road in Ireland.

And whatever you do, don’t assume your normal journey time will apply during Ryder Cup week.

We’d recommend allowing more time than you think you need. Ireland looks small on a map, but scenic coastal drives, stops in villages and the temptation to pull over every five minutes for another view can turn a straightforward journey into a full day’s adventure. 😆

Best Day Trips from Limerick During the Ryder Cup

If you’re travelling from overseas for the Ryder Cup 2027 in Ireland, we’d seriously consider adding a few extra days to your trip.

There are some fantastic parts of Ireland within reach, and organised day tours from Limerick make it possible to explore without worrying about driving or parking – and you can enjoy a pint too!

• The Cliffs of Moher & The Burren are an easy choice if you want to experience Ireland’s famous Wild Atlantic scenery. Expect towering sea cliffs, huge Atlantic views and plenty of time to take in the coastline before heading into the Burren, a fascinating limestone landscape unlike anywhere else in Ireland. Kate is from County Clare and we’ve spent many days exploring the Burren ourselves, so this is one close to our hearts.
• The Dingle Peninsula is all about dramatic coastal scenery, tiny villages, ancient ruins and those classic Irish Atlantic views. The Slea Head Drive takes you around some of the most spectacular coastline in Ireland, with plenty of photo stops along the way, before finishing in Dingle town where you can wander around the harbour, grab some food and, if you’re lucky, catch some live Irish music. We’ve explored Dingle many times — in fact, the Slea Head Drive was our very first date together! It was January and snowing, though, so we probably wouldn’t recommend copying that part. 😂
• If mountains, lakes and spectacular scenery are your thing, Killarney National Park and the Ring of Kerry are a great option. Expect stops around places such as Torc Waterfall, Muckross Abbey and the shores of Lough Leane, along with some of Kerry’s famous mountain and coastal scenery. You’ve guessed it – we’ve also spent plenty of time exploring Killarney! – and although this will be a long day from Limerick, you’ll see some of the most beautiful parts of Ireland.
• Bunratty Castle & Folk Park: One of the easiest day trips from Limerick, Bunratty is a great option if you don’t want to spend hours in the car. The 15th-century castle and recreated 19th-century village give you a taste of Ireland’s history and traditional life, and its location near Shannon makes it particularly convenient for a shorter day out.
• Lough Derg, Killaloe & East Clare: For something a little more relaxed, Lough Derg, Killaloe and Ballina offer a lovely mix of scenery, history and small-town Ireland. Wander around the historic twin towns, cross the bridge over the River Shannon, take in the views across Lough Derg and explore some of the quieter countryside in East Clare. It’s a good choice if you’d like to escape the Ryder Cup 2027 crowds without spending the day chasing Ireland’s biggest attractions.
• Quin Abbey & Craggaunowen: If you want to explore more of County Clare beyond the big-name attractions, Quin Abbey and Craggaunowen are worth considering. Quin Abbey is a wonderfully atmospheric medieval ruin, while Craggaunowen focuses on Ireland’s prehistoric and early medieval heritage. They’re particularly handy options for a day out from Limerick without committing to a huge road trip.

Limerick’s location makes it a useful base for exploring more of the west and southwest of Ireland.

So rather than treating the Ryder Cup as your entire holiday, you could make it the centrepiece of a much bigger Irish adventure.
